Top Ten Reasons You Should Quit Your Job

It’s Friday! And we are one week closer to our departure date. After making the first big saving step of getting rid of cable I am happy to report a week without TV and we haven’t died. Seriously though, I may never go back, and I hope Tyler feels the same way. Already I have made it to a extra spin class after work and already find myself logging way less couch time.

Any who being that it is Friday and I have gotten a lot of questions lately about why we are planning the move and other questions from friends and family about our plans, and I began thinking about writing this post about jobs and careers.

I also follow a ton of blogs currently, and almost all of them have had posts on this subject. I always like reading them for not only motivation but because someone always have some unique way of looking at life, money, goals, and the “American” dream that I usually agree with. So in the spirit of currently being a weekend warrior I thought I would share my top three “quit your job” posts that I found that I love, bookmark, and read over and over:

You can find the first one from http://offshoreodysseys.com/ HERE

The second one from www.justonewayticket.com can be found HERE

And lastly, the third post from www.bankerinthesun can be found HERE

“You have brains in your head and feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You’re on your own and you know what you know.
And you are the one who’ll decide where to go.”

Honored to be one of the three chosen posts!

I also do agree that a desk job isn’t necessarily bad. I loved my bank job because it allowed me to travel. It funded what I am doing now, without it, I’d only be dreaming. So every day I went to work, I reminded myself that it was for a greater purpose, a beautiful one.

What really did me in was a gun-point robbery, which nearly took my life. That’s when I said, okay, now’s the time to travel.
